I am Hanna Southerland and I am so glad to be a part of the MCHS family!  I started my career in education as an English teacher after receiving a Bachelor Degree in English and Allied Language Arts degree from Western Kentucky University. I started working as a counselor at Butler County High School in January 2014 after earning my Master’s in School Counseling from WKU and an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of the Cumberlands .  I moved to Muhlenberg County High School in August of 2022.

My husband, Joe, and I have two boys, Evan and Will.  I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my boys play soccer and baseball, and traveling when we can.

My job is to help the students of MCHS in any way that I can to better prepare them for life after high school and I love what I do!

I am Tracy Warner, Muhlenberg County High School Sophomore School Counselor. I graduated from Madisonville Community College in May 1988 with an Associates Degree in Business. Then, I decided to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. I graduated from Western Kentucky University in December 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Elementary Education. I earned my Master's Degree in Elementary School Counseling from Western Kentucky University in May 2005. I graduated from Western Kentucky University in May 2009 with a Rank I in K-12 School Counseling.

I previously taught Kindergarten, First, and Second grade at Central City Elementary School. I was fortunate to move to Freedom Elementary as a Guidance Counselor when it opened in 2015. Then, I was blessed to join MCHS as their sophomore Guidance Counselor. I love my job at MCHS and have always felt welcomed by the staff, students, and parents. MCHS is an excellent place for students!

I am here to serve the students, the parents, and our excellent staff. I am available for listening, talking, helping, and so much more. Please feel free to contact me for anything, and please let me know if you have a need or request for your children. I always want to strive to do what is best for our students!

My greatest reward as a counselor is helping our students explore ways to make the changes in their lives that will allow them to look forward to the future with hope. We all need someone to talk with who will listen and accept us as we are, without judgment.
