The fourth annual Regional Education Partnership Excellence in Teaching Awards has recently announced nominees. Madisonville Community College and Murray State University-Madisonville have chosen among other school districts two classroom educators in Muhlenberg County. This year's nominees include Jacklyn Murphy at the elementary level and Josh Stewart at the middle school level. The following descriptions come from the nominations:
Jacklyn Murphy, an elementary teacher, is a dedicated educator who creates a warm, family-like classroom where every student feels valued, supported, and loved. She skillfully meets students where they are, challenging them to grow while nurturing their confidence through individualized instruction and unwavering positivity. Beyond academics, her consistent kindness, empathy, and commitment to others make her an inspiring teacher and colleague who leaves a lasting impact on her students and school community.
Josh Stewart, a middle school teacher, is a highly dedicated educator who consistently puts students first, demonstrating exceptional commitment, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility. He maintains high expectations through rigorous, research-based instruction and continually improves his practice to meet the needs of all learners. In addition, he is a collaborative leader and positive force within his school, strengthening both his colleagues and overall school culture.
Winners will be formally recognized at an upcoming ceremony hosted by the college.
