The Mustang Buddies Club hosted its annual Fall Festival, bringing together over 100 students for a day of fun, friendship, and inclusion! Peer volunteers helped run festival booths and escorted students through the activities, ensuring everyone could participate and enjoy the festivities. Club members generously donated over 2,000 pieces of candy and 2,000 prizes to make the event possible. This was more than just a fall festival. It was a wonderful example of students supporting students, building friendships, and celebrating what makes our Mustang family special. All Abilities. One Herd.
From one of our readers…GREAT TO SEE MC SCHOOLS WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE OUR COUNTY MUSTANGS PROUD!!!
Our staff celebrated our Family Resource Coordinator for her work helping families access resources through Happy Feet and Christmas assistance. One of our fifth graders was so excited to share, “I'm getting new shoes from Ms. Jill!” It's a simple statement, but it says so much about the impact our staff has on our students and families.
A staff member recognized our behavior monitor for the incredible care she shows our students who need a little extra support. Whether it's taking a walk, providing a calm space to reset, or helping a student start the day on a positive note, she is always willing to help. Even with several students already in her room, she welcomed one more who needed some extra encouragement that morning. That willingness to do whatever our students need makes such a difference!
One of our teachers shared a sweet story about one of our students who noticed her shoulder partner wasn't feeling well and had stepped out of class. Without being asked, she picked up her classmate's math book and completed the notes and work alongside her own so her friend wouldn't fall behind. What a wonderful example of kindness and looking out for others!
From a board member…Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend the day with our Greater Muhlenberg County Youth Leadership. What a fabulous group of leaders they are going to be. They were very eager to help and learn. The future is bright for these young leaders. Thank you, Muhlenberg County Schools, for the education that you have given these students! I just wanted you to know about some of our outstanding students!
A big thank you to Freddie Slaughter for being an outstanding individual and employee. I appreciate his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to providing safe and secure travel for everyone. Thank you to all the bus garage staff in general. Your hard work does make a difference.
The three days provided FFA members with a valuable combination of leadership development, career exploration, hands-on learning, and social activities. Through group challenges, convention sessions, equipment demonstrations, and shared meals, students strengthened their teamwork and communication skills while building stronger relationships with fellow chapter members. These experiences reinforced the importance of leadership, cooperation, and exploring the many opportunities available through agriculture and FFA.
From a visiting district…Oh my goodness!!!! We had the best time today!!!! The teachers I brought loved visiting the county and they learned so many new ways of doing business.
I just finished watching the Superintendent Spotlight video, and I loved it! Mrs. Ozier was an amazing teacher. My sister and I both had her in 4th grade, and we both have nothing but kind words and great memories of her and her class! Again, I really enjoyed the video! And she looks awesome for 99!
A BIG Shout Out to everyone who worked behind the scenes with the Happy Feet program. The smiles and excitement the kids had when they returned with their new shoes was priceless. It was truly humbling.
I want to share how happy my heart is for my child and everyone that is pouring into him. There are several of you! He is thriving and I just want to share. As a momma, this shows just how special and great you all are at helping our kiddos exceed. As an employee of LES, I am so very thankful for each of you and the hard work you all put into our Spartans.
