Superintendent Brian Lile has challenged all staff across the district to share any great news/successes with him throughout the school year. He plans to communicate these special moments each week. Here's the first list:
A parent wrote that her son woke up and reached for a book instead of a tablet because of a reading challenge. Then he took a timer on the bus and read the whole way home. That is the kind of win we hope for.
One of our students made a mess and asked to clean it up himself so the custodian would not have to. Small moment, big character.
Our school year is off to a fantastic start! That is a direct reflection of our amazing and dedicated staff. They love our kids, believe in them, and are willing to do whatever it takes to help every student be successful. I could not be prouder of the way our staff has started this year.
Our custodial team has been incredible! For the second year in a row, they have worked endlessly to prepare our building while dealing with construction, dust, moving, and countless other challenges. They never stopped working to make sure our school was ready for our students and staff. I am so proud of them and grateful for everything they do!
This week has reminded me just how fortunate I am to work alongside such an incredible group of people. I am very proud of our family and excited about the year ahead!
Our entire staff has shown an eagerness to make students feel welcomed and loved at school. One of our main goals this year is to greet and welcome every student with positivity. I have seen people going above and beyond for kids.
Our head custodian has done a great job in making furniture alterations and changes for teachers. He also does a great job making sure the school is ready to be used at the first of the year.
Our Family Resource Youth Service Center’s love and care for students is unmatched. She was able to help a family this week who needed new school clothes and through her relationship with the family found out they needed new beds due to a house fire in a previous community.
Our kindergarten teachers accepted the challenge of larger class sizes this year, and they have absolutely risen to the occasion. They are doing a spectacular job establishing routines, building relationships, teaching expectations, and somehow keeping all of our little ones moving in the same general direction!
Bringing our former students back to The B.E.R.G. Experience was great and inspiring!
We had a great Welcome Assembly the first day of school, and our new staculty members have brought great energy to our school!
We had a really fun 1st Friday Rally today! We are moving our assemblies to be more student-led, and I think our Mustang Union students did a fantastic job planning and hosting today’s rally.
Our new custodian has our building looking and smelling clean. Several students and staff have commented on the appearance of our building.
